FAQs

Q:  What is an Equine B&B

A:  An Equine B&B is a horse motel that offers overnight accommodations to horses as well as their human travelers.

Q:  I found a horse motel for my horses during an upcoming trip, but they don’t accommodate overnight ‘non-horsey’ guests.  Any suggestions on finding nearby hotels quickly and easily?

A:  Some B & B-type horse motels can accommodate your horses and yourself, some horse motels might only have simple R.V. hookups, but frequently there will be no accommodation for ‘non-horsey’ guests.  We recommend that you use a service such as Hotels.com or Orbitz, or Kayak.com to easily and cheaply find nearby accommodations for yourself and any pets you might have traveling with you.

Q:  Can I list my horse motel with Horsemotel.net?

A:  Yes!  We offer three options, from free ‘bare-bones’ listings to $100/year premium packages.

Q:  I’d like to add my Horse Motel to HorseMotel.net but don’t live near any interstates.  Why do you specify that my facility must be within 25 miles of an interstate?

A:  There are multiple online listing services out there for horse motels. Most are listed by state and include listings in very remote locations. That was not our intention with this directory. We saw a need for travelers to have easily accessible accommodations close to interstate thoroughfares. However, we won’t leave you out in the cold. Feel free to use our Equine Business Directory to list your facility.

Q:  What is ‘pony pooling’?

A:  Pony pooling is like carpooling, only with horses.  Sometimes you might have an extra stall in a trailer when you’re traveling.  You can make a little extra cash (offsetting your travel expenses) by filling that space with a horse who also needs to travel in the direction you’re traveling.  Visit this link to view free pony pooling listings and announcements.  Note:  It’s a good idea to carry insurance to cover guest equine travelers.
